    Hid kits

    Post by kenny_fr on Tue 30 Sep 2008, 19:56

    Howdy everyone,

Was looking at the hid kit i purchased a while back for the ibiza
    Its a 6500 h7 kit.
Anyone had a go at fitting a kit themselves, is it easily done
or is there alot of modifing parts involved.

Heard mixed opinions about hids thats why ive not had a go at fitting
    them yet.

i fitted mine myself mate, honestly it was just like changing a bulb......

all u do is take out ur bulb, drill a 25mm hole i think it is.... put the new ballast in( bulb with a cable from it to the box thing) then find somewhere suitable for it to sit, tightem eveything up and ur good to go, after there fitted best takin it to a mot place to make sure there still alligned properly

Easy peasy i removed mine from my golf and fites them to the A2 took me less that 30 mins to fit would have been quicker had i didnt need to drill the back of the headlight (covers)

    Cheers guys,

So basically the only footery bit is making a hole on the
back of the headlight covers for the cables? How do you
go about making sure there aligned in the 1st place are
they ment to just sit in place of the old bulb?

yeh Kenny they simply replace the bulb, but sometimes u move the wee aligment thing by mistake i no i did haha, drilling was the only thing that would cause problems but even that is a peice of piss if done correct...

they connect up to where the bulb is plugged into if that makes sence to u Razz
